“I started working with dogs in the late 1980s when I got my first German shepherd in Germany. Not having any experience training dogs, I went to a club looking for someone to train my pup. They told me, ‘That is not how it works. You have to train your dog.’ Before I knew it, I was in the scratch suit and bite arm, training dogs for protection work, watching others lay the tracks for their pups to follow, and then on to competitions as a hobby.

Training at the club lasted about ten years before I came back Stateside, where the only work I did with pups was my own until I changed my professions. Seeing the dogs of others excel and succeed at their training is one of the most gratifying experiences for me and what keeps me excited about tomorrow."

"I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Finally, in 2007, I was in a position to get my very own first dog (a feisty and stubborn Boston Terrier) and started training with her. I had to up my training game when my husband and I decided to adopt a German Shepherd and, to boot, a very reactive Dogo Argentino. Working with dogs and seeing how they improve and become more confident canine citizens brings me joy daily."

I was born and raised in Germany and worked as an RN for many years in Germany and the US. I have always had a passion for animals, and as long as I can remember, I have wanted to work with dogs. I must thank my now two-year-old German Shepherd, Luna, for making this dream come true.

Even though I spent almost 15 years with my very sensitive, timid, and very fearful Saarloos Wolfhound Shanti, I was in for a huge surprise when I decided to get a German Shepherd puppy. Being highly reactive to everything, combined with her infinite energy and "mouthiness," it didn't take long to admit that I was over my head and needed help.

When I started Luna's training at TCC, I was surprised at how much I learned about dogs in general, my puppy, and myself. Not only did I see the potential and progress in both of us, but I also enjoyed having the opportunity to meet and work with like-minded people and their dogs. Long story short, when the opportunity arose, Luna and I officially became part of the "Tri Canine Pack."
