Dog training group classes are a great way to teach your furry friend new skills while socializing with other dogs. At Tri Canine Campus in Clarkston, MI, we offer a variety of group classes designed to help your dog become a well-behaved and obedient companion. Our experienced trainers use positive reinforcement techniques to create a fun and effective learning environment for your dog.
Training your dog has only benefits. In our group classes, your pup will learn what you expect of them and, therefore, listen better. They will respect you more, thereby lessening or eliminating most reactivity issues they might have. Through training, your dog will build confidence in its surroundings and, most importantly, in you. Your overall relationship with your pup will improve the more time you invest in training. We're here to help make the time you invest more valuable by offering a class structure.

"Imprinting,"… a word that can practically be replaced with "Bonding," occurs "during the most important stage in the early life of a dog. Pups at this age are at their most impressionable. Having your pup imprint on you means they are especially bonding with you, and that bond strengthens the more you spend time with them. Working with your dog at this life stage sets the foundation for your pup to grow.
Our Puppy Program is based on a European Style of training. This program also covers puppy behavior, touches on Agility, and allows for a more seamless integration into our advanced training classes. It is the perfect start for the first time dog owner and at the same time prepares your puppy for any advanced class whether it be Therapy dog, Service Dog, Search and Rescue, Protection, and most importantly promotes an exceptional bond between you and your furry family member.
Puppy Beginner (6-week course) - Class Objectives
Puppy Intermediate (6-week course) – Class Objectives
Puppy Advanced (6-week course) – Class Objectives
With your dedication, your puppy will learn to Heel on both the Left and Right sides, discover the fundamentals of Agility Training, and eventually, not only walk loose leash, but Off Leash.
These classes will also inform you about the different bad behaviors puppies can develop and how to deal with them. For example, puppy biting, resource guarding (food and toys), and separation anxiety.
Our staff is well versed in the traditional style of training puppy obedience. In order to continue their training in the new European style and Service Dog Task training, we need PUPPIES!!!
If you are going to enroll or are currently enrolled in a Puppy Class, we are offering you our 10 Day Daycare package at 50% off accompanied by free day training!
Your participation would be greatly appreciated.
Please note:
This class is designed to teach dog owners basic leash handling skills, the do's and don'ts of training, and commands. As you learn, so does your pup. Emphasis is placed on proper leash handling skills and getting your dog to focus on you (if you cannot get your pup's attention, they are unlikely to execute the commands you are giving them).
This obedience class continues with skills learned in Obedience 1 class but now emphasizes dog training. Impulse Control is high on the list. Your pup will know that when the command Down is given, it means to stay put. By the end of this class, your pup should have nearly undivided attention on you no matter what is going on in the classroom and a good Recall.
By this time, you and your pup will have a good handle on basic obedience. In Advanced Obedience, you will refine your dog's heel, master impulse control, and determine the focus of your dog.
Achieving a state of obedience that the AKC Canine Good Citizen, Canine Good Citizen Advanced, and Canine Good Citizen Urban tests may be taken and passed is high on the list but not necessary.
